Urgent Care Now’s NEW Pediatic Services

Urgent Care Now is happy to announce that addition of their Pediatric Services at the Toms River location. Pediatric services will be available on Saturdays and Sundays between 1 pm and 5 pm.

The new pediatric program is geared as a resource for the treatment and services needed when a patient is unable to see their primary doctor.  A pediatrician will be available on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm to accommodate the needs of their younger patients and provide specialized care that is unique and specific to infants and youth.

Urgent Care Now knows that children’s issues require different treatment than adults. By implementing the pediatric program, the walk-in clinic can provide specialized care to patients between the ages of newborn and 17 years old. Children are treated for a range of injuries and illnesses, such as sprains, strains and wounds that require stitches to rashes, infections, colds and flu.

Joining the UCN staff of Emergency Room trained physicians and nurses are pediatricians, Dr. Shabnam Maghsood and Dr. Catherine Meli. Both providers are affiliated with Jersey Shore Memorial Hospital which has a long standing and comprehensive pediatric program.

Urgent Care Now’s new pediatric services program fills two needs – a convenient alternative to the ER when a patient cannot be seen by their primary physician and distinctive care that is age appropriate to the patient. When a child is hurt or sick, many times it is after regular doctor’s office hours. Urgent Care Now can provide critical care and treatment quickly and conveniently, something that any parent knows is a much valued and appreciated service for their child.

Urgent Care Now believes in appropriate care for all their patients and understands the importance of a primary care provider.  As always, patients are referred to their primary physician for any necessary follow up treatment and a detailed patient treatment summary is faxed directly to each patient’s primary doctor after each visit.  The goal at Urgent Care Now is to provide treatment when it is needed and necessary in a quick and convenient manner.

Urgent Care Now hopes to expand the pediatric services program to all their 4 locations, including Lanoka Harbor, Manahawkin and the soon to be open Little Egg Harbor center.
